The Respite Program provides relief and support to family and friends who care for disabled adults at home. Respite care focuses on the needs of caregivers to encourage them to take care of themselves, to prevent burnout, and to allow them time to pursue other activities that are essential to maintaining a healthy, well-balanced life.

In-Home Worker Registry Program
Do you need to hire a caregiver? As a community to elderly persons and their families,Council on Aging & Human Services maintains an In-Home Worker Registry. The Registry is a list of people who are interested in providing caregiver services in the home. Council on Aging & Human Services screens each person listed before referring them out, and has references on file for those interested in hiring. The persons on the list are NOT employees of Council on Aging & Human Services. The Registry is simply a referral system to help find In-Home Caregivers.
A thoughtful donation to Council on Aging & Human Services will help support our programs. Your generosity will enable us to continue providing quality services.
Cost?
There is no cost for using the Registry, but a donation of $15 is suggested to help with expenses.
How do I use this Registry?
Call Council on Aging & Human Services (509)397-4305 or (800)809-3351 and ask for the Registry Coordinator. After receiving the appropriate information as to what you need, the Coordinator will work with you on matching any available caregivers from the Registry to your particular need. There is never a guarantee that we will be able to find an available caregiver for everyone, but it is a good place to start!
Any questions related to the Council on Aging and Human Services Home Care programs can be referred to Deb McKay or Tricia Grantham at (509)397-4305 or (800)809-3351.
